three things...

Today, I am going to make it a point to tell each one of my family members THREE positive and encouraging things. I want my kids to be lifted up and know that they are special!

I was thinking about what I could do to help me encourage my family every day. I know I fall short when it comes to being the encourager my boys need. I've not been very good at it. After Taylan was born, I felt awesome, I felt on top of the world. About 17mths later when Kanyon was born was when I changed. I don't even remember much of his first year of life because I was so angry all the time. I didn't seek counsel or go to the doctor, but I know I had some majorpostpartum issues. And it's taken me sooooo long to get back to that truly happy mom I was in the very beginning. I'm sure I'm still not all the way there, but God is working on me. And now I feel like I'm trying to play catch up to be the mom my babies need. But as most people, I am completely a work in progress. I will never, ever be perfect, but I can at least strive to be the person God so uniquely created me to be and be the mom God desires for me to be for my babes.

We should all make it a point to say positive and encouraging and kind and uplifting words to our families everyday. I know some days are much tougher than others. I've had my fair share of hard days, but it's now my mission to encourage, even on those not so good days. We know that all things are possible with God. And I need Him to be first in my life, and I need to teach my babes how to put Him first in their lives too.

Have a great Saturday :) We're going fishing at a father/son retreat where Toby is the guest speaker! So we're off to get fishing poles for the boyos!! That will be another opportunity for me to tell them what wonderful little boys they are and how they are sooo good at fishing! Or how awesome they are for trying their hardest to fish :) we'll see...
