reality

note: I am not to blame for the following SOOPA long post. my mental capacity is however. there's too much in my head right now and IT.MUST.COME.OUT. It gets rather crowed in there...

So I'm a wannabe.... a wannabe supermom. I certainly don't have it all together together. Not one bit. I'd like to have it all together. I'd like things to ALWAYS work out. I'd like to be able to use the potty with out one of my spawns yelling, screaming, crying, or hollering for me or at each other. I'd like to do my dishes after EACH meal and keep up with the laundry and have floors so clean you could eat off them everyday... but that just wouldn't be real life. That would be IN MY DREAMS.

So anyhow. I have been working A LOT this past week. In fact, I'm pausing my work right now because I love to journal. I love to write my thoughts out. And as I'm reflecting on my day, I have this need to journal it. right.now. Instead I'm blogging it here. Because... I was thinking about this blog and what on earth the point of it will be in 10 years. I've decided that once a year, I want to have my blog made into a book. There are sites that do that, and I'll look them up and post it later. But I want to put in into book form for something my kids and my grand kids can have and look back on and see what our lives were like 'way back when'. How awesome would it be if we had a whole book that documented the lives of our parents and grand parents? I would love that, and I'm betting that someday when my kids are old enough and mature enough, they'll dig it too.

So my day has not been THE best day ever. It's been regular and a bit batty. See, my wittle peanut has been kinda sick lately. I really thought it was allergies since the allergy meds the doc gave me would clear up his gunk until I stopped giving it to him. (I really can't stand pumping my kids full of meds, so I try not to as much as possible. But I will say allergies are a booger to live with! Taylan has them and sneezes nonstop without meds, just like my brother did growing up). Anyways, I just now rocked my sweet pea to sleep and checked his temp. He felt a little warm, and yes, he has a fever. So I will be taking him in tomorrow morning. And now he's awake. It's been five minutes....

okay so we're typing with one hand....

so my snuggle bug has been feeling icky and has been super clingy, even in his sleep. Naps only last like 10 or 20 minutes because of the constant attention he's been requiring...

he's out again... let's see how this goes. SO...we get up this morning and get the kids dropped off at school and then head on over to Abilene High to film some stuff for a football video Toby is making for their pep rally tomorrow morning. We get all that finished and come home and I get Jonyn all fed and happy. He's so sleepy but takes a while to crash because of his cough and uber stuffy nose. He gets there and I lay him down and he's up in about 25 minutes...not really enough time for me to do anything. *sigh* No big, I feed him more because he likes to comfort nurse. He'll eat when he's not all that hungry just to be comforted and he was once again somewhat content. At this point it's like 10:15 and Josh and Dana are on their way over to view their photos (at 11am) from our recent session. (Also, Dana is doing Project 365 on her blog and it's pretty cool. You should totally check it out)! Let me just say that my house was such a disaster. No kidding. School papers where on every surface including the floor. Taylan brings home sooo much stuff and it usually gets scattered. But I love seeing how he progresses everyday! Anyhoo, we had dirty clothes here and there, shoes in odd places, toys scattered about, a dirty diaper here and there, books laying around, and more. much.more. My kitchen was a disaster. So I scrambled to clean it. Oh thank heavens for vinegar and baking soda because I had some stuck on YUCK on my stove. Yeah it was gross! BUT hurray! I got it all cleaned, except for my floors. But I never have clean floors. Also, Dana, it was lucky you didn't have to see our bathroom...EW. Seriously. After we had our meeting, it was just about lunch time. I tried to feed Jonyn, but he wasn't havin' it. He didn't eat much at all. He really prefers momma's milk over baby food. So I decided I would get me something to eat. It was all ready to be gobbled up when Baby decided he needed some lovin'. He was sleepy again, so I rocked my boy to sleep, put him down, and started to eat. BEFORE I COULD FINISH, he is awake. Hm, okay, I don't like this short nap thing. I finish my food while he cries a bit. It was so sad. I felt awful, but I was a starvin' marvin. I had to eat. I scoop him up and feed him and he's once again sorta happy.

After school today, the boys wanted to play outside, so I took J out there too and put him in a swing for the first time! After checking to see if it  tasted okay, he seemed to enjoy it, even being all sickly and everything.

     ps...LOVE his chubby legs!
The boys jumped on the trampoline for a little while. And as you can see, I finally cleaned up that mess that WAS the padding.

You didn't know that Taylan had super powers did you?? That's right, he can flySLASHfloat.

fast forward... I did a little work, then we made dinner and ate around 5:30. And can I just tell you how much I LOVE to have an early dinner?? Growing up we had dinner right after school. We were finished and the dishes were done by 4 or 4:30. everyday. I really love that. It makes the evening feel longer. And on most days, that's a good thing.

SO. I NEVER EVER do the dishes right after dinner. I'd rather wait until the next day when all the food is good and stuck on. Ya know. Not tonight... Toby went to praise band practice and I decided the boys and I should clean up the dinner mess. right.then. So we did and it was...nice. So clean and shiny in there. After that, T did his daily required reading, did a little crossword (SO my son) and then I asked both boys to draw a picture of what they think our family looks like. Taylan drew Mom, Dad, Taylan, Kanyon, and Jonyn. soopa cute :) Kanyon, however, drew his Nana, Nanny and Papa. It was also soopa cute. I think he misses all of them. So do I. So much I cry sometimes. I wanna be close to all of them. All in God's timing I suppose.
Taylan's picture.... all male Chambers family members MUST have a fauxhawk....

So after that we took a bath. A rare occasion in our house. Usually T and K take a shower (daily). And poor sweet Jo has not had a bath in about a week and a half. I'm not so much the best mom at times....So tonight I quickly cleaned the bath tub and made a bubble bath and all three of my guys hopped in there and chilled for quite a while. No really, the water finally got chilly. My wee one loves to splashy splash...

See how icky my boy looks...

While the baths were happening, I decided to do something I also NEVER EVER do... use my multitask powers and clean the bathroom while they bathe. Here's a bit of reality for ya.... what my bathroom looked like before the scrub down:

So while cleaning, I decided to further my multitasking skills and teach the boys the proper way to pronounce SUPER. After baths they started running around saying SOOPA FLY! It was pretty awesome. So now, my bath is all sparkly and fresh... see?

and see our whale? it's pretty sweet. It turns your faucet into a water fountain by closing the whale's belly. The boys love it and so do I. I haven't heard the words "I'm thirsty" nearly as much as I used to. Oh sweet bliss...

I got the boys to bed and decided I should sort my laundry and get all prepared for tomorrows huge task of getting it all caught up. See how much there is? Now it's all prepared to be laundered...

There's also two loads in the wash and dry. Your thinking what is that massive pile wider than the hallway in the back? Well, it's all blankets. Now you say: How does one acquire such a large pile of dirty blankets? Well, that's easy. First, have family in town to stay with you and help you use some extra bedding. Then don't wash it until all of your other back up sheets and blankets have been soiled by Baby with leaky diapers or by leaky lactating breast. THEN, when your last mismatched set of sheets are ON your bed, gather all your dirty blankies and decide to WASH THEM!  Oh and I also have four baskets full of CLEAN clothes that need to be folded.... see?

And that's actually how I fold my clothes, I place the baskets just so, then sit down beside them and fold them all on the couch while watching a movie or something. It's a pretty great okay system. After T goes to school and I go get some milk and bread, I plan to tackle this huge chore. It'll be an all day affair, but hey, we'll all finally be able to FIND our clean clothes since they will be put away where they belong. And don't worry, I already gave my soap nuts and dryer balls a pep talk, they are all nice and prepared to do the dirty work tomorrow...

That's my real day, in a hugely massive ginormous SOOPAbig nutshell.

That's my reality. Check it.
