yum yum and yum

You MUST try this. Especially if you like hot cocoa. At my house, we almost always make ours from scratch. Unless Toby brings us a surprise box from the store. I just like the homemade flavor better than the packet and it is SUPER easy! Here's a twist on the classic that you must try!! It's so rich and creamy and of course you can always adjust the measurements to your liking. I happen to like it as is. (I actually added 1/2 tsp of cinnamon for kicks to see how it would be. It wasn't bad, but I'll stick to the original recipe next time).

Chocolate Peanut Butter Hot Cocoa
serving size: 3

3-4 tablespoons sugar
3 tablespoons cocoa
2 1/2 cups milk
3 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
1/2 tsp vanilla
whipped topping (optional)

In a small saucepan, combine sugar and cocoa. Gradually stir in milk. Add peanut butter. Warm over medium heat stirring constantly until hot. Do not boil. Remove from heat. Add vanilla. Beat with a wire whisk. Top with whipped topping. Serve!

Oh my goodness. It's so good. The boys love it too!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE whipped cream, but didn't have any and I so wish I did. I bet this would be divine with whipped cream!

PS. If you did want to use a packet of hot cocoa instead, just add 1 tbs of peanut butter to each cup made.
