I've taken more selfies this year than ever before. Even before I had kids and got all growed up, I don't remember taking photos of myself. much. I'm sure I did at times. But now... I've had kids, I'm married. I don't need to impress anyone.
And I forget to feel beautiful.
Women are beautiful creatures. Each in our own way, we look beautiful.
God sees us as stunning. More beautiful than we could ever imagine Him seeing us.
Our husbands think we're beautiful.
Our friends do too. And our children and our families all see it.
I'm sure even strangers see us as beautiful too.
So what's the problem? Why do we not see our selves as beautiful.
We see our friends that way, our Moms, sisters, aunts, strangers. Our children. But not ourselves.
It's time to change that. Time to start seeing beauty when we see ourselves.
I want to see myself as beautiful. I'm flawed, but who isn't?
Sometimes, it is those flaws that make us so beautiful. and interesting. and amazing.
How will you see yourself the next time you catch a glimpse of you?

Think I gotta follow you now! Your photos are beautiful and I'm slowly adding to my own photography skills.

ReplyDeleteLove these self-portraits.

ReplyDeleteYep, even after seeing more of this set now, my assessment is the same: FIERCE. That bare shoulder and mysterious covering up of part of the face. But the one that really got me? The last one with your sweet babe...
ReplyDeleteLove it!!! Thank you for inspiring me!
