ten days

He has been on this earth for ten whole days now. I'm pretty sure he's always lived in our hearts though. It's like he's always been here. For over 41 weeks I wondered what he would look, what color his hair, how much hair, my elf ears or Daddy's round ears, long feet or short feet, bigger than seven pounds. Then towards the end, I wondered if he'd even show up on his own, with out medical help. Of course he did, when he was ready, and not a moment sooner. stubborn baby.
He was finally born and he looked so much like the second born brother. Big lips, squishy face, some dark hair, long feet, round ears, perfect. I couldn't imagine our lives without him, even though it's been such a short time. And it's kind of amazing having a newborn in the house one more time. I'm loving every minute. There's been a few days I felt like I couldn't live without holding him in my arms. Crazy how you can miss them when they're just down the hall in another room. I wish that feeling would never end. But then they turn three and you want to send them down the hall to another room just to stop the obnoxious pretend dog barking that's so high pitched you think your eardrums might explode. I'm just sayin'.

And sure, there's a chance that on Daddy's first day back to work today my boys might have possibly watched cartoons maybe the majority of the day, perhaps. ahem.

But I did take time to get newborn photos of our Greyson today. He cooperated nicely for me. I opened the curtains and blinds in our room and just used our bed as the backdrop. Super simple photos, but I'm happy with them. They get the job done.
