simple moments :: week 7

on Christmas eve, my honey had to work. so while it was a terribly frustrating day from the moment the kidlets woke up, i tried my darnedest to make the best of it.

so, the i made sugar cookies with buttercream icing with the boys. all from scratch. they were delicious. homemade buttercream is my fave.

aside from that, the boys enjoyed it. the little two especially loved pressing the cutters into the dough. and they might have also snuck in a few licks of the icing in the process.

i had fun, too...when i wasn't burning and dropping the cookies.

i am not the best of making the most out of a bad day, i tried really hard. because that's what a mom does, ya know? and it was the eve a super important day.
i forget why B was upset. i think he bumped his noggin and was mad about it and wouldn't let me console him. toddlers. oh p.s. greyson slept through all of it.
perhaps we started a new tradition. we shall see.

and while the day wasn't stellar. my kids are important enough to hang out with and make something together. i don't want to forget the little hands that made these cookies. those hands won't stay small forever, but hopefully, the memory of this moment will always be there.

  1. Love this, and all those little hands busy at work. I so want to join in on this "simple moments", but truly, it's been painful for me to pick up my camera and I'm not sure why. Getting back to my blog is on my list of things for 2013, and I'm going to use this as an excuse to blog! Hold me to it, okay!?

I am so happy you are here. Your words make my heart so happy.
