simple moments :: week 15

if you are joining me, we are on week 15 of capturing those small moments of what makes us happy, of what we never want to forget.

this week, i'm bringing my baby back. i loved them all at this stage. that stage where they wake up and just chatter. and you walk in and they are standing up and playing and they greet you with a gummy grin.

greyson was sitting when i walked in, just a chillin', finger in mouth and all. i don't follow the rules when it comes to my babies. i don't follow crowd, i don't follow your advice, either. that goes with a lot of things baby related. you can do what you want, i'll do what i want. all in the name of no judgement and love toward other mothers.
so yes, his bed is cluttered with stuff. and that's okay by me. i always put a fleece blanket down to lay him on because cotton is cold to the touch in the winter and it wakes him up if he's sleeping and i put him on the cold sheet.
and, uh, yeah, that'd be electrical tape. this bed has been through four babies. so it's a little broken in places and repaired Chambers style in others.
i also love when a big brother walks in and starts playing with the baby. that's the sweetest. brennen loves greyson. greyson loves b's hair. so b has learned not to get those luxurious locks within the babe's reach.
one day i'll look back and think, oh! i remember how sweet and bouncy b was when i took these, and how smiley grey was when b played with him through the crib. that's the purpose of documenting, right? so when we are gray and using walkers and our grandbabies are adults, we'll be able to look back and remember the sweet things in our lives. we'll be utterly grateful for what we were blessed with, and maybe, just maybe, the regrets will be few.
there's that hair again. even i'm jealous of it. it's so soft and pretty. even when he's refused a bath for three nights straight. and in case you forgot since looking at my header, brennen...often called "b", is in fact a boy with lovely long and soft hair.
my kids seem to have the most expressive eyebrows as babies. it makes my heart smile.
 i love this one below.
 i have no caption for this one below, but i so thought it was funny. if only we could know what they think, eh?

simple moments :: previous weeks

simple moments is about finding the small things that make up our everyday, things we want to remember and be thankful for. it's the little bits of our lives that might not be remembered when we are gray and old. so we document it, on paper, with a photo, through a blog. join me?

  1. OH MY those are so cute! I wish I could have taken those kind of pictures when Andrew was itty bitty! I have a few of Jonah that way, and very few (2 or 3) with both interacting at the crib! These are so precious Brooke!
