simple moments :: week 32

found messy/dirty
forgive me for missing the last three weeks, being the host and all. vacation just took priority and i only had my computer with me half the time. but i'm back at it, even if a day late. i struggled with this one this week. usually, when it's not blazing hot, the little boys will play outside for.ev.errrrr, but with this heat, they don't stay out there as long. so i don't have dirty legs and bellies like i wanted to photograph. so this week, i just captured brennen after breakfast.

he's a morning kid, and i love that. really, he's like an all day kid, at his best all the live long day. the happiest of happies. this morning, he had peanut butter on his toast, so his face was covered. he was telling me he had a mustache (from the pb).  and the way he says "peeta buttuh," the best, it really is. on top of that his mess of hair is so amazing. some days it's extra curly and big. i love his bed head, err'day, i love it.

you'll also have to forgive the nose. it is so scabbed and sore. i fell for the kid. it won't stop running, nor will he blow it, and he won't let me get the crusties off no matter how i try. the nightly shower is our only hope of it somewhat being clean. and for now, that's just okay, because a sore nose is the pits.

next prompt: found being still
simple moments: previous weeks
simple moments is about finding the small things that make up our everyday, things we want to remember and be thankful for. it's the little bits of our lives that might not be remembered when we are gray and old. so we document it, on paper, with a photo, in a journal, through a blog. join me?
ps, if you participate, would you pretty please link to me in your post somewhere? i would so much appreciate it. thank you!
coming up in july:
wk33 7/4 found being still
wk34 7/11 found with YOU (selfie suggested)
wk35 7/18 found after dark
wk36 7/25 found with emotion

  1. Oh, I'd forgotten all about this! Still struggling to just take 'real life' shots around here, and making it a goal to get back into blogging for July (and hopefully make it a habit again).

    It's ON for next week! :)

  2. Also... so glad you posted the themes for the upcoming weeks. Somehow that makes it easier.

I am so happy you are here. Your words make my heart so happy.
